History

Bafune Construction and Electrical (BCE) was founded by the members of the Ndwandwe family who had a vision of building an organization that will provide sustainable turnkey solutions. We provide for multi-disciplinary consulting engineering service companies, to programme management, power generation, distribution industries, water & wastewater management industries, municipalities, petrochemical industries and freight logistics
companies.

The first step was taken when the organization was legally incorporated on the 23rd of July 2008. In 2009, the company leadership decided for one of its co-founders to play an active role and join the organization on a permanent basis and was mandated to run and grow the organization towards the projected business imperatives. The first year of BCE’s operations was the toughest and most financial challenging as the organization closed its books without a major order. The beginning of the second quarter of 2010, a decision was taken to grow the business service portfolio through Eskom projects; as only Eskom, at the time, was willing to assist SME companies with management of cash flows and more suitable payment terms. This led to the procurement of plant equipment, head-hunting of talented personnel and business profitability. This led to the desire to grow the multi-disciplinary consulting engineering services and programme management unit of the business. 

We undertake all aspects of electrical, control and instrumentation for infrastructure projects; from economic and feasibility studies, through detailed design, to supervision of construction and contract administration. We pride ourselves in our ability to deliver sustainable, low-cost, excellent quality and technologically advanced projects and services. Our strength lies within our dynamic team that comprises of technically competent engineers, registered project managers, workshop personnel as well as our efficient support functions.
